  • When arriving at the nursery
  • Before all meals and snack times
  • After using the toilet.
Ventilation

Good ventilation helps reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus. At New Beginnings we support that improving general air flow, mainly through the use of fresh air to help to create a safer environment for staff and children.

We ensure our settings are well ventilated but still maintaining a comfortable environment for the children and staff.

We identify any poorly ventilated spaces as part of our risk assessment and take steps to improve fresh air flow in these areas, giving particular consideration when holding events where visitors such as parents are on site, for example for a parents meeting.

Where it is safe to do so, we open external windows to improve natural ventilation and, in addition, open internal doors, to also assist with creating a throughput of air throughout the day.

The use of CO2 monitors are used throughout the nurseries to measure the air quality throughout the day. Any areas which are identified with a poor air quality through use of these monitors measures are put in place improve the air flow quality for example opening windows.
