Our nursery building is set in a large semi detached house with both indoor and outdoor space. Rooms are brightly decorated, airy and light having been completely refurbished throughout. Our indoor and outdoor environments have been designed with small children in mind. Every space is carefully considered to enable learning to be available at every opportunity.
Children are able to initiate play independently or are supported by staff to engage with activities which have been crafted to challenge and support their development. Our outdoor area has recently been renovated into an adventure garden for outdoor learning and play with an insect garden and a fruit and vegetable allotment.

New Beginnings invested in Lisa to reach her potential and support her passion for childcare. Lisa has been the Rainham branch manager since 2011 and values being part of a family where being the best you can be is rewarded and encouraged. She's a special lady with a big heart and will always go that extra mile for children, their families and her staff team. That's why everyone loves her!

This room is full of a wide variety of educational toys, books, puzzles, construction resources and sensory materials to stimulate the children’s senses and challenge their minds. For new children starting with us, we focus on building consistency and stability between home and nursery to ensure a smooth transition for the whole family, and a solid foundation for a wonderful relationship to begin between our family and yours.
Every child is allocated a key person who supports them between drop off to pick up. Your child’s key person will be responsible for their individual weekly planning and next steps, as well as helping parents to continue building on what the children have learnt at home.
In the Rainbow room, we have a particular focus on allowing the children to lead their own learning using construction, role play, small world play, musical instruments and natural resources. We also introduce numbers, colours and letters to the children in a fun and engaging way. Your child’s key person will be responsible for carrying out carefully planned activities to help them further their learning, as well as build on their social and emotional development.
Of primary importance is a strong partnership with parents to ensure a smooth transition, either as a new starter or in moving up from the Raindrop room. We know that parents are a child’s first educator so strive to provide you with ideas for home, alongside advice and guidance around toilet training and behaviour management.
We take advantage of the children’s ever growing knowledge to prepare them for their next adventure in school. We fulfil this by instilling confidence, independence and encouraging curiosity and exploration through their play. We work alongside parents to get their child school ready by suggesting activities to help with letter and number recognition, phonics and early reading and writing. We are also able to provide advice on choosing the right school for your child.
