Located in close proximity to Romford train station, New Beginnings Romford is perfect for commuting parents. With a large garden and in walking distance to a park, the outdoor learning opportunities are plentiful. Inside the nursery children can take advantage of a variety of resources including a sensory room for children to develop their senses. All meals are nutritionally balanced, prepared using fresh ingredients by our own chef.
The nursery opened in October 2012 and in March 2013 the nursery received ‘Outstanding’ in all areas when inspected by Ofsted. In November 2019 we underwent our cycle inspection and retained our 'Outstanding'. In 2014 the nursery was nominated by parents for Nursery of the Year in the prestigious NDNA awards and was crowned winners of the central region of the UK.
The nursery is bright and spacious, with access to "child friendly" designed garden and growing area, a sensory room and a platform lift to the first floor.

Bonnie has been with New Beginnings for 14 years starting in 2009 as a nursery apprentice at our Rainham branch. While working at Rainham Bonnie completed her level 2 and 3 childcare qualifications and went on to be room leader of the baby room before completing her level management course and becoming deputy manager of the Rainham nursery. For a few months Bonnie was keen to explore the world and took a little break in the summer of 2019 to pursue her dream of travelling around Asia. However she couldn't keep away from us for too long and returned to us in November 2019 to assume her new role as nursery manager of the Romford branch. Bonnie has a number of years experience working at New Beginnings and with children and thoroughly enjoys her job.

This room is full of a wide variety of educational toys, books, puzzles, construction resources and sensory materials to stimulate the children’s senses and challenge their minds. For new children starting with us, we focus on building consistency and stability between home and nursery to ensure a smooth transition for the whole family, and a solid foundation for a wonderful relationship to begin between our family and yours.
Every child is allocated a key person who supports them between drop off to pick up. Your child’s key person will be responsible for their individual weekly planning and next steps, as well as helping parents to continue building on what the children have learnt at home.
In the Bluebell Room, we have a particular focus on allowing the children to lead their own learning using construction, role play, small world play, musical instruments and natural resources. We also introduce numbers, colours and letters to the children in a fun and engaging way. Your child’s key person will be responsible for carrying out carefully planned activities to help them further their learning, as well as build on their social and emotional development.
Of primary importance is a strong partnership with parents to ensure a smooth transition, either as a new starter or in moving up from the Sweetpea Room. We know that parents are a child’s first educator so strive to provide you with ideas for home, alongside advice and guidance around toilet training and behaviour management.
We take advantage of the children’s ever growing knowledge to prepare them for their next adventure in school. We fulfil this by instilling confidence, independence and encouraging curiosity and exploration through their play. We work alongside parents to get their child school ready by suggesting activities to help with letter and number recognition, phonics and early reading and writing. We are also able to provide advice on choosing the right school for your child.
What is a sensory room?
The snowdrop sensory room is a special room designed to develop a child's sense, usually through special lighting, music, and objects. It can also be used as a therapy for children with limited communication skills.
