Affordable childcare
Funding support available
We understand that childcare costs can represent a significant part of family outgoings, and we want to ensure that all families receive the support they may be entitled to.
To request information about nursery fees and session availability, please contact your local New Beginnings nursery, where our team will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Parents and carers can also visit our individual nursery pages for information relating to the individual nursery.
We aim to help families understand the range of government-funded childcare schemes available to support childcare costs and early education.
Eligible children aged from 9 months up to school age may now be entitled to up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week, depending on their age and family circumstances.
As every family’s circumstances are different, we encourage parents and carers to visit the government’s Best Start in Life guidance for further information about available childcare support, eligibility criteria and how to apply.
Funding, fees & what's included
At New Beginnings, we are committed to being transparent about nursery fees and funded childcare.
Invoices clearly show:
- funded childcare hours,
- privately paid childcare hours,
- and any optional additional services selected by families.
Government-funded childcare covers early education and care only. Optional extras, such as meals, snacks, consumables and enrichment activities, are available separately and are clearly itemised where applicable.
Parents and carers can find full details within our Fees and Funding information packs and nursery fee schedules.
Meals and snacks
Meals, snacks and consumables provided during funded sessions are optional additional services. Most families choose to access the meals and snacks provided by the nursery as part of the daily nursery experience.
Parents and carers who choose not to purchase nursery meals or snacks will have the opportunity to discuss the options available with their nursery. Any arrangements will need to be in line with the nursery’s food safety, allergy and healthy eating requirements.
Enrichment activities
At New Beginnings, we are proud to offer a wide range of enriching experiences, learning opportunities and additional resources that enhance children’s development and extend beyond the statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
These additional opportunities form part of the unique New Beginnings experience and may include enhanced curriculum activities, specialist programmes, community experiences, communication and language support, sensory experiences, family learning resources and seasonal events.
Information regarding optional enrichment opportunities, consumables and additional services will be discussed with families and outlined within our nursery funding and fee information.
Find out more about the support is available for your family
Managing childcare costs can be challenging, particularly given the current financial environment. The UK Government provides various funded childcare programs aimed at easing this financial burden.
Explore the different options available to discover how childcare funding can support your family.
If you're not on benefits but entitled to Tax-Free Childcare, you can get a top-up of up to £2,000 per year, per child until the 1 September after your child turns 11 (or 16 for disabled children – and for them you can claim up to £4,000).
If you're still able to use Childcare Vouchers, you can use them until your children turns 15 (or 16 if they're disabled).
If you're on Universal Credit and in work, you can reclaim some of your childcare costs – up to a maximum of £1,014 for one child and £1,739 for two or more children – for children up to the age of 16. You can claim just during school holidays, or throughout the year.
