Keeping Your Child Safe
Safeguarding children at
New Beginnings
At New Beginnings, we are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child in our care. We continuously review and strengthen our safeguarding policies, procedures and practices to ensure the highest standards of safety, protection and wellbeing for all children.
We promote a strong culture of safeguarding throughout our nurseries, ensuring that all staff, children, families and visitors understand the importance of creating safe, supportive and nurturing environments where children can thrive.
We are committed to inspiring, supporting and protecting children, enabling them to become:
- Successful learners who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve their full potential.
- Confident individuals who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives.
- Caring and responsible members of the community who make positive contributions within the nursery and beyond.
Safer Recruitment and Responsibilities
At New Beginnings, we have robust safer recruitment policies and procedures in place. Safer recruitment is a vital part of our commitment to protecting children and ensuring their safety and wellbeing. All staff are recruited fairly and safely by trained managers who prioritise safeguarding at every stage of the recruitment process.
All adults working within our nurseries are required to read, understand and follow our safeguarding policies and procedures (please refer to our Policies and Procedures page).
Staff are also expected to read and work in accordance with key safeguarding guidance, including:
- Keeping Children Safe in Education (DfE)
- Working Together to Safeguard Children
- What to Do if You’re Worried a Child is Being Abused – Advice for Practitioners
At New Beginnings, every member of staff shares responsibility for promoting the welfare, safety and wellbeing of the children in our care. In line with the statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, staff are required to report any safeguarding concerns immediately to a member of the Nursery Safeguarding Team.
Our Safeguarding Team receives regular training and ongoing updates to ensure safeguarding practices remain effective, current and responsive. All safeguarding concerns are handled sensitively, confidentially and professionally, always with the child’s best interests at the centre of our approach.
Get more information
We encourage parents and carers to explore the safeguarding information provided by the NSPCC, which outlines the different types and signs of abuse, the impact abuse can have on children, and practical advice on keeping children safe. The guidance also explains how to report concerns or seek support if you are worried about a child.
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of children and families, we have also developed our own Early Help guidance document. This resource is designed to help parents, carers and staff understand how early intervention can provide support, strengthen protective factors and promote positive outcomes for children and families.
We invite you to explore these resources to learn more about how early support and safeguarding guidance can make a positive difference to children and families.
