A Gem Hidden Amongst The Trees

New Beginnings day nursery in Loughton offers childcare from ages 3 months to 5 years and is rated Ofsted 'Outstanding' . Our highly-qualified and motivated staff have a vast wealth of knowledge and experience. We are constantly striving to meet the highest standards and our partnership with parents is extremely successful.

The nursery staff will go the extra mile to meet the individual needs of both children and parents, through our bespoke settling in programme. We have a good relationship with the local schools and we have worked hard to ensure that the children’s transitions are smooth and secure.

We welcome the opportunity to show you our "gem amongst the trees"

A Place to Learn and Grow

We are based in a purpose built childcare provision within the grounds of Alderton Infant and Junior schools. We are fortunate to have the benefit of a sensory room, large play rooms which interconnect and free flow access onto covered outdoor classroom area.

We also have an amazing adventure garden for outdoor learning and play with an insect garden and a fruit and vegetable allotment.

Daily Routine

We open the door, with a big welcome, from 08:00am, breakfast is served between 8:00am-8:45am.

Our 'play & learn' times are planned on a weekly basis to meet children's interests and next steps. These times can be indoor and outdoor- wherever possible our double doors are open out onto our top deck areas allowing free flow play between the inside and outdoor classroom.

Personal care routines are attended to at specific times of the day and in addition whenever necessary. We have potties and other items to assist with the toilet training process. Children learn about the importance of hand washing before every meal to maintain good levels of hygiene.

Sleep time babies and younger children have dedicated sleep areas, with their own bedding set. We will follow sleep routines should they need a morning and afternoon nap.

Every child has their own water bottle/beaker kept in their rooms for them to access to throughout the day. Practitioners support, remind and encourage all babies, toddlers and children to stay hydrated. At snack time their is a choice of milk or water. Formula is given as per child's home routine.

Seahorse Room

0 - 18 months

This room is full of a wide variety of educational toys, books, puzzles, construction resources and sensory materials to stimulate the children’s senses and challenge their minds. For new children starting with us, we focus on building consistency and stability between home and nursery to ensure a smooth transition for the whole family, and a solid foundation for a wonderful relationship to begin between our family and yours.

Every child is allocated a key person who supports them between drop off to pick up. Your child’s key person will be responsible for their individual weekly planning and next steps, as well as helping parents to continue building on what the children have learnt at home.

Jellyfish Room

18 months - 2 years

In the Jellyfish room, we have a particular focus on allowing the children to lead their own learning using construction, role play, small world play, musical instruments and natural resources. We also introduce numbers, colours and letters to the children in a fun and engaging way. Your child’s key person will be responsible for carrying out carefully planned activities to help them further their learning, as well as build on their social and emotional development.

Of primary importance is a strong partnership with parents to ensure a smooth transition, either as a new starter or in moving up from the Seahorse room. We know that parents are a child’s first educator so strive to provide you with ideas for home, alongside advice and guidance around toilet training and behaviour management.

Turtle Room & Dolphin Room

3 years - 4 years

We take advantage of the children’s ever growing knowledge to prepare them for their next adventure in school. We fulfil this by instilling confidence, independence and encouraging curiosity and exploration through their play. We work alongside parents to get their child school ready by suggesting activities to help with letter and number recognition, phonics and early reading and writing. We are also able to provide advice on choosing the right school for your child.

Starfish Sensory Room

All ages

What's a sensory room? The starfish sensory room is a special room designed to develop a person's sense, usually through special lighting, music, and objects. It can also be used as a therapy for children with limited communication skills.
