Set within a beautiful detached property in the London Borough of Havering, New Beginnings Romford provides a warm, welcoming and inspiring environment for children to learn, play and grow.
Our nursery has three bright and spacious rooms, thoughtfully arranged to reflect the different stages of children's development. Each environment is designed to encourage learning through play and exploration, with carefully selected resources and experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity and independence.
Our well-equipped outdoor space gives children the freedom to explore, investigate, move and challenge themselves in the fresh air. Outdoor learning is an important part of our approach, providing opportunities for children to develop physical skills, confidence and a deeper understanding of the world around them. Inside and outside, our environments are designed to give children opportunities to follow their interests, develop new skills and build confidence at their own pace.
We recognise that nursery is an important part of a child's wider educational journey. We have established close links with local schools and carefully support children as they prepare for the transition to school. Through regular observations and progress checks, we work with families to understand each child's development and celebrate the progress they are making. As children approach school age, we help them develop the confidence, independence and skills they need to take their next exciting step.
At New Beginnings Romford, our environment, dedicated team and nursery-to-home approach work together to create meaningful opportunities for every child.We nurture children's natural curiosity while supporting the development of the skills, knowledge, confidence and attitudes that provide strong foundations for their future. MEET THE MANAGER
Bonnie Chalk
Bonnie has been part of the New Beginnings family for 17 years, beginning her journey with us at our Rainham nursery in 2009. Starting her early years career with New Beginnings, Bonnie completed her Level 2 and Level 3 Childcare qualifications with us before gaining extensive experience across the nursery, working with children from the baby room through to pre-school.
As her experience and passion for early years developed, so did her leadership journey. Bonnie went on to complete her management qualification and has proudly held her current role as Nursery Manager since 2019.
Over the years, Bonnie has continued to grow, develop and build on her knowledge of early years practice. Her experience across different age groups gives her a wonderful understanding of children's individual journeys and the importance of providing the right support at every stage.
Bonnie's passion for her role is clear in the relationships she builds with children, families and her team. She takes great pride in getting to know every family and creating an environment where parents feel welcomed, supported and confident in the care their child receives.
One of Bonnie's favourite parts of her role is watching children grow through their nursery journey — seeing their personalities develop, celebrating their achievements and supporting them as they transition from one room to the next.
Bonnie's story is a true New Beginnings journey — growing with us, leading with passion and helping generations of children and families flourish.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) – Safeguarding Requirements
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the statutory safeguarding and welfare requirements that all early years providers must follow.
These requirements ensure providers:
- Protect children from harm and promote their welfare.
- Recruit and maintain suitable staff through safer recruitment and ongoing suitability checks.
- Appoint a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to oversee safeguarding practice.
- Provide regular safeguarding training and supervision for staff.
- Follow robust procedures for recognising, recording and responding to concerns.
- Promote safe environments through effective risk management, safer sleep practices, safe mealtimes and good health and hygiene.
- Work in partnership with families and safeguarding agencies to support children's safety and wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records and share information appropriately where this helps protect children.

Sweetpea Classroom 0-2 years
Welcome BookletThis room is full of a wide variety of educational toys, books, puzzles, construction resources, and sensory materials to stimulate the children’s senses and challenge their minds. For new children starting with us, we focus on building consistency and stability between home and nursery to ensure a smooth transition for the whole family, and a solid foundation for a wonderful relationship to begin between our family and yours.
Bluebell Classroom 2-3 years
Welcome BookletIn the Bluebell Room, we have a particular focus on allowing the children to lead their own learning using construction, role play, small world play, musical instruments, and natural resources. We also introduce numbers, colours, and letters to the children in a fun and engaging way.
Sunflower Classroom 3-5 years
Welcome BookletWe take advantage of the children’s ever-growing knowledge to prepare them for their next adventure in school. We fulfill this by instilling confidence, independence and encouraging curiosity and exploration through their play.
Snowdrop Sensory room
The snowdrop sensory room is a special room designed to develop a child's sense, usually through special lighting, music, and objects. It can also be used as a therapy for children with limited communication skills.
